Simon Cowell feels like he is “coming out of a fog”.
The 54-year-old music mogul is expecting his first child with American socialite Lauren Silverman.
Simon confesses he lost his “buzz” for life until he learned she was pregnant.
“I'm having a baby and I never thought I would. And it totally changed everything,” he explained to Weekend magazine.
“It was like coming out of a fog; that’s the only way I can describe it.”
Simon reveals he felt “uncomfortable” with the news initially, as Lauren was still wed to his good friend Andrew Silverman at the time her pregnancy went public.
But the X Factor tycoon eventually convinced himself to see the bright side of things.
“I thought, ‘Stop feeling sorry for yourself, you’ve got nothing to feel bad about’,” Simon recalled.
“It just makes you feel like you’ve got a responsibility. I definitely feel better.”
Lauren’s divorce from Andrew, with whom she shares a seven-year-old son, was finalised on Wednesday December 4.
Although she is now free to marry, Simon recently denied he has bought his girlfriend an engagement ring.
There were rumours he had splashed out on an expensive band for Lauren, which he was planning to present her with over the Christmas holidays.
"No… I haven’t been ring shopping," Simon insisted to Extra.
