Kanye West claims to be the next Ralph Lauren during a panel discussion in Miami.

The Yeezus singer made the outrageous claim while taking part in a design debate during the Art Basel art show in the Florida city.

Kanye arrived with fiancée Kim Kardashian and didn’t waste any time in singing his own praises.

During the hour-long chat, West alluded to the fact that he’s the next Ralph Lauren, saying “there’s a new frontier” and bragged about being in art school reports Radar.

The 36-year-old launched his first fashion line in spring 2006 and followed it up with his first women’s label DW Kanye West in October 2011, which was heavily criticised by critics.

The panel discussion isn’t the first time Kanye has compared himself to Ralph Lauren.

“When you think of Polo you think of the story that Ralph Lauren is giving you, it’s the pictures of him and his wife and all the ads he puts out,” he explained during an interview in November with Power 99FM.

“Ralph Lauren almost tried to create his own Bible and the reason why I’m going to be the next Ralph Lauren is that everyone is looking at my story now.”

Kanye is renowned for being outspoken and complaining about being famous.

His appearance on the design panel alongside Swiss-born architect Jacques Herzog was no different.

“Famous and frustrated is the most irritating f**king thing…like I am frustrated ’cause I made a film and nobody liked it,” he said.
