Justin Bieber "doesn't give a f**k" what people say about him.
The 19-year-old singer has hit the headlines for a number of negative reasons of late. He's been accused of visiting a brothel and having a one night stand in Brazil and threw a party so raucous at the weekend that police were called three times.
In a new interview the teenager insists he pays no attention to people's views of his lifestyle.
"Not, ‘I don't give a f**k,' to just be reckless and do whatever, but, ‘I don't give a f**k what [people] say,'" he told The Hollywood Reporter.
The star has a unique way of explaining all the column-inches which are dedicated to his seemingly reckless ways. Justin insists many stories are untrue and penned simply to draw attention to the publication.
"When people see a negative thing about me on a magazine, they're gonna buy it," he claimed.
"Every time some site writes something bad, all my followers go on there, and it brings them more traffic. Now they have all the Beliebers on their site, which gives them money from advertisers. They're just worried about money. They don't care about ruining someone's name."
Justin has admitted smoking marijuana in the past and boasted to TMZ about how fun his recent party was. He's also been accused of endangering people in his gated community by driving at high speeds but insists he always makes solid life decisions.
"I know who I am and what I'm doing in my life and what I've accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I'm happy with the man I'm becoming," he explained.
The young star admits he has few friends, saying the only people he trusts fully are his mother and father and manager Scooter Braun.
He also spoke of his influences, revealing he is proud to be inspired by "black culture".
"But I don't think of it as black or white," he said. "It's not me trying to act or pose in a certain way. It's a lifestyle - like a suaveness or a swag, per se. But I don't really like to say the word [swag] anymore. It's kind of played out."
