Justin Timberlake is thought to have earned around $1.3million from one private performance.

The American singer attended a party thrown by couple Jill Bikoff and J. Darius Bikoff, the founder of Smartwater and Vitaminwater, last Friday. The lavish bash was held at New York's NoMad Hotel to celebrate the couple's tenth wedding anniversary.

Justin put on a surprise acoustic show for the couple and their guests, for which he is believed to have raked in the impressive amount. Other big names in attendance included art collector Adam Lindemann, Vbeauté founder Julie Macklowe and asset manager Randy Slifka.

A source gave a glimpse of what the elaborate party included to the New York Post's Page Six.

"Expensive rare wines were served. There were burlesque dancers as the centrepiece of every table. It was insane," the insider said.

Justin - who is married to actress Jessica Biel - appears on the cover of GQ magazine's 19th annual Men of the Year issue.

In the publication, the 32-year-old star opens up about growing up in Memphis and how it affected his outlook on life.

"It's a struggling city with a defeatist attitude," he explained. "I'm from this town, and I grew up with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, so sometimes I find it funny that I've been able to acquire the patience it takes to be kind to people in our business. Because sometimes I just want to [expletive] kill everybody."

He also addressed reactions to his action film Runner Runner. Despite receiving negative reviews, Justin doesn't let the comments get to him.

"This recognisable face that you work so hard to get - not because you want the recognition but because you know you're made to do it... The movie didn't do well at the box office, so I should quit?" he mused.

"Hold on a second. If I was somebody else, you wouldn't have said that. I have the number one album this week, and I shouldn't have released it? Come on, man. You sound like a [jerk]... It just shocked me because, like, you're trade magazines. None of your opinions count. And by the way, none of you can do it."
