In a year which has taken rock heavyweights Band of Skulls around the world, the three-piece announce their third studio album 'Himalayan' will be released in Spring 2014 on Electric Blues Recordings and unveil lead single 'Asleep at the Wheel', out on 5th January. The band will showcase material from the new album at a headline show at London's Bloomsbury Ballroom on 20th November.

With seminal producer Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) at the helm, Band of Skulls deliver a body of work to cement their rock credentials combining trademark raucous blues riffs, masterful musicianship and faultless vocal harmonies in an album full of raw power and beautiful melodies.

Thundering open with primitive drum beats and a heavy rhythmic pulse, lead single 'Asleep at the Wheel' is a full-on joyride of an opener with the band's guitar work and vocals at their blistering best. It is loud, boisterous, carefree and will leave no one in doubt that Band of Skulls are back and better than ever. Listen below.

In the last year they have shared the stage with Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, The Dead Weather and Muse with 2012 boasting two sold-out headline London shows at The Roundhouse and Brixton Academy.

Both live and in the studio, Band of Skulls are performing at the top of their game; 2014 looks set to catapult the band to the forefront of the British music scene as 'Himalayan' is poised to become one of the most anticipated albums of the year.
