UK based charity Walking With The Wounded and British male vocal group Blake are proud to announce a partnership which will start with the launch of a charity single on November 14th 2013.
The song, 'To The Sun', will be adopted by Walking With The Wounded as its official anthem starting with Virgin Money South Pole Allied Challenge which sets off in November 2013 in a race to the South Pole. 50 pence from the sale of each single will be donated to the charity.
BLAKE's association with Walking With The Wounded will also include a range of activities through 2014 including participation in the charity's gruelling challenges - for example the Trois Etapes pro-am cycling race - promotion and fundraising throughout BLAKE's UK tour dates and performances at Walking With The Wounded events.
BLAKE - Humphrey Berney, Stephen Bowman and Ollie Baines ' commissioned songwriter Alistair Griffin to write a song that captured the spirit of the charity. Alistair's music has sound-tracked some of Britain's greatest recent sporting occasions including Andy Murray's historic Wimbledon win, the London 2012 coverage, The British Open and both the BBC and Sky coverage of Formula 1.
The challenges that face wounded servicemen and women resonate closely with the band. All three members have close friends who have been affected, either mentally or physically, whilst serving in the Armed Forces.
'To The Sun' will be released on November 14th 2013 by Music Infinity, distribution by Absolute via Universal.
