Juicy J says he “hooked up” Katy Perry with some grillz.
The rapper and Katy collaborated on a song called Dark Horse for her new album Prism. Katy was so impressed with Juicy’s style, she asked for his help in acquiring her own fashionable mouth gear.
"It was great. She liked my chain and I hooked her up with my jeweller,” Juicy told MTV News. “She wanted to get some grillz, so I gave her the contact to my jeweller. But it was cool."
Juicy loved working with Katy and was very surprised when he found out she wanted his help on the song. He discovered the singer is actually a huge fan of his and found her to be “very professional.”
"Dr. Luke gave me a call and was like, 'Hey man, Katy Perry wants you to feature on one of her songs for her album' and I was like, 'Wow.' I couldn't believe," Juicy said.
Juicy found Katy had very specific ideas for how she wanted the track to sound, but he appreciated her work ethic. The two of them really focused on coming up with a product that both were proud of.
"It was a little challenging to make, but I've been doing this for a long time and I had fun doing it so it wasn't a problem,” Juicy said. “When we finished the whole song we kept listening to it listening to it over and over again. And she was singing all the lyrics to my flow to my verse on the song and I was like, 'Wow.' Just to be there with Katy Perry a huge artist like that it's great."
