Bradley Wiggins was on hand to launch his latest collection at the Fred Perry Seven Dials store in London to a select audience.
Speaking to Music-News.com the cycling phenomenon said "It's a pleasure to work with Fred Perry, they have a great understanding of what I'm after and I'm very pleased with the results."
Asked about his mod routes he said "I've always dressed like a mod it's what I am and have always been, just because some of the papers picked up on it people think I changed but I haven't, it's me."
Speaking about playing guitar on 'Thats Entertainment' with Paul Weller at Hammersmith Odeon he modestly commented "It was better than anything I did last year".
The Autumn Winter '13 Bradley Wiggins collection is now available to buy in all Fred Perry Authentic shops and online here.
Characteristically referencing 1960s style and design, the Autumn Winter '13 The Bradley Wiggins collection sees both new and reworked favourites offered in vintage inspired patterns and colours. Refined and streamlined silhouettes incorporate functional design details with a nod to cycling jerseys of the past - zipped rear pockets, scooped hems, quarter zip neck fastenings. Key pieces for the season include the timeless pack-away Jacket crafted in a lightweight nylon ripstop and the classic short sleeved shirt released in vintage inspired mustard yellow, paying homage to Wiggin's Tour win.
'It's a partnership I could only have dreamed of...I have been a lifelong fan of the brand, stemming from my following and commitment to the mod movement and what I believe is Fred Perry's unparalleled relationship with subculture. My goal has been to develop an authentic, non technical range of off cycle wear that is inspired by the best of the sport's unique heritage ' something I am hugely passionate about. Fred Perry offered me that opportunity.I'll never forget the buzz when I first heard that Fred Perry were interested in working with me and since we've started work it's clear that I'm going to have the chance to execute many of my and collaborate on some great ranges in the coming seasons.'
