Nashville is the country music capitol of the world but, for music in general, it is much, much more.
The diversity of the music in the city is on display in the new documentary For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville. Some of the biggest names in the business from a wide variety of genres participated in the making of the film, being interviewed and allowing their live shows and studio work to be filmed. It is also filled to the brim with rare photographs of the city and the artists that made it so big.
'You can't get that many talented people in one area and expect the genres not to grow,' Ben Folds recounts in the documentary which features more than 30 artists who provide a personal and captivating account of how Nashville has evolved into the world's Music City. As Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys notes 'There really are no parameters, no walls. You can do whatever you want in Nashville.'
For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville will air in a shortened form on Sunday, November 3 at 3 PM ET on ABC, just hours before the CMA Awards. The film will then be available in its entirety, along with unused clips and full artist interviews, at ABC.com. An iPhone App is also being planned.
The full list of artists featured in For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville:
