Kelly Clarkson thinks Miley Cyrus is super talented.

The original American Idol winner revealed that she respects the star’s craft following an apparent online feud.

Following Miley’s controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, Kelly cryptically posted "2 words ... #PitchyStrippers,".

It led to Miley's former assistant Cheyne Thomas replying on the former Disney star’s behalf, writing, "She's fat and 30".

However now 31-year-old Kelly has claimed her comment may not have been about Miley’s singing and appearance after all.

"I was just being funny," she said to Entertainment Tonight, while not giving away who her comment was aimed towards. "Miley's super talented."

Kelly has been in positive spirits since getting engaged to her partner Brandon Blackstock last December.

They are due to get hitched in a matter of weeks and the occasion will be tiny.

"This really counts as my wedding, because Brandon's been married before," she shared. "I was like, 'I really just want it to be us.' And he was like, 'I get it.'"

She can’t stop gushing about how she wants to start a family as soon as she says “I do”.

"I can't wait to have babies with him," she added. "We're trying soon."

Kelly, who won the first series of American Idol in 2002, recently got into acting.

She spoofed herself on comedy show The Crazy Ones, where she played an altered version of reality.

“I agreed to do the show because they said I’m going to play myself, and I was like ‘Ok who turns down doing a scene with Robin Williams, that’s awesome.’ He’s one of my favourite actors since I was a kid,” she told People magazine.
