Aged only 21, Gabriella Cilmi is back with the release of her third album The Sting on November 4.

The album marks a clear departure in both look and sound for the Australian-Italian singer-songwriter who seduced the world with her international hit single ‘Sweet About Me’.

Earlier this year Cilmi announced 'The Sting' with teaser track 'Sweeter In History', a slice of atmospheric pop, with accompanying video showing Cilmi shorn of her trademark hair, and dressed in widow’s garb. referencing her new artistic direction.

When asked if she felt 'musically' old at 21 already releasing her third album Gabriella replied "a lot of my friends say that I remind them of a little old Grandma, I don't know if that's just because they've been watching my video for 'Sweeter In History' because I do have a bit of a fascination with the mourning... old... women... kind of thing."

"Obviously I've been doing this for a while, I came to London almost seven years ago to start my music career, so I guess it's been a while but I still don't know it all."

Speaking on the recording experience Gabriella told Music-News.com "Me and computers just don't gel, maybe that's why my friends call me grandma, because I really still don't understand."

A charming young lady Music-News.com caught up with Gabriella upstairs in a North London bar for an exclusive chat to find out more. Check out the full uncut interview below.
