Lady Gaga's fans are campaigning to put "Applause soup" on supermarket shelves.

The pop star held a contest awarding fans with the most creative idea to promote her latest single with tickets to her concert earlier this month at London's Roundhouse.

Gaga logged onto Facebook at the weekend to share a snap of herself with the winners, two male fans who designed "Applause soup", featuring the single's colourful artwork on a can of Campbell's.

"My amazing ITunes Festival winners! Chosen for their creativity, they impressed with their idea to put Applause soup cans in Aussie Supermarkets! They promoted Applause in many interesting ways! Good job!" she wrote.

The can evokes images of late pop artist Andy Warhol's famous 32 Campbell's Soup Cans, a fitting reference for Gaga's forthcoming album ARTPOP.

The singer performed seven tracks from the record at the iTunes Festival, marking her first full live set since the 27-year-old underwent hip surgery in February to treat a labral tear.

ARTPOP is scheduled for release November 11.

The singer posted a photo of herself in the recording studio on Instagram Friday revealing she was putting the finishing touches on the album after having to release two singles early following online leaks of unfinished tracks.

"Finishing the album. Bye bye baby," she captioned the image, adding in the caption of another close-up: "It's so hard letting go of the music. Nobody can hurt it now. It sounds like mad angels I will always love ARTPOP."
