Like hot prospective flatmates, thunderstorms and phone bills, once in a while a music promo lands in our Music-News' inbox that blows our tiny minds. This week, two new electronic acts have been getting frequent play at MN towers.
If you haven't heard of Tom Le French aka Robinn, we suggest you get on Google. He's got a forthcoming album, Multiphonia on Giles Peterson's favourite European Label, Compost dropping on 29th September. Robinn plays a weird mix of future-jazz electronica: think hungover-approved SBTRKTesque stuff, rather than disaffected-Brighton-cafe-owner-disaster jazz.
Better still. When It gets to mid-week and those pictures of cats that look like Abraham Lincoln just aren't cutting it, his Youtube videos are pretty stonking too:
On the other end of the electronic spectrum, epic German label Caus-N-FF-CT was a formidable name in the early noughties, with the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Felix Da Housecat & DJ Pierre, all featuring on imprints. Now, back with a melodic vengeance, the label has just announced releases for Swedish veteran Playmaker with a rework of his classic: 'Black Pony'. Fancy of bouncy mainroom peak night house will love:
Both artist have plans in place for major London gigs soon. Watch this space!
