Original Penguin have announced their next Plugged In live music session of the year. The session will be streamed live via a Google+ ‘On Air’ hangout.
Since the birth of Original Penguin in the 1950’s when Rock & Roll dominated youth culture, the brand has always had strong links with music. Now Original Penguin continues to grow and evolve alongside the cultural landscape, embracing all musical genres from indie to urban, electronic to acoustic, while discovering the connections and influences that power the most exciting bands and artists.
In line with their ambition to create unique events and content which puts fans at the forefront, Original Penguin have announced a collaboration with Google+ to create a special one off event with dubstep producer Benga.
The event will be shot in a top secret London location where Benga will be playing a full set to an audience made up of fans and online influencers. Fans can enter to win tickets to the event via the Plugged In website.
Benga is set to be the first DJ/producer to perform at one of Original Penguin’s sessions and the intimate setup is designed to connect with both the fortunate few in the room and the global community of fans accessing live via Google+ on mobile, tablet, PC or Laptop. The event with Benga takes place on Thursday 27th of June and will be streamed directly with an edit available on demand via the Original Penguin channels soon after the event.
Fans on the day should be in for a treat and Benga recently had this to say about his music.
“This is about creating something new, which was all that dubstep was in the first place. I want to challenge the way people listen to music. If I become a star along the way, a mogul, an impresario, so be it. But it’s only because I want people to feel music the way I do.”
Benga’s Plugged In Session will be made available to stream directly via Google+ and will also be accessible on the Plugged In website. The producer just released his third studio album ‘Chapter II’ last month.
