Chris Brown says he’s innocent of any wrongdoing after a car accident.
The star allegedly refused to hand over his driver’s licence number and correct insurance details to the driver of a Mercedes he rear-ended in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles last week.
According to TMZ the 24-year-old singer claims the other driver has been “ducking his attempts to discuss the matter”.
Sources close to Chris told the website he gave the woman accurate information following the minor fender bender.
The star’s lawyer apparently attempted to contact the driver shortly after the accident but alleges she “hung up on him”, with subsequent calls having gone unanswered.
TMZ reports the singer has not been contacted by the Los Angeles Police Department following the incident.
Chris’s Range Rover reportedly inflicted “medium damage” on the Mercedes.
The star is still on probation for assaulting Rihanna back in 2009.
Any evidence suggesting he left the scene of the accident without providing proper information could violate his probation. If found guilty of violation he faces jail time.
Chris recently split with Rihanna and is said to have reunited with ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
He and Karrueche spent the weekend hanging out together in Las Vegas before he performed on stage in front of a large crowd at the Palms Casino Resort.
