Nick Lachey thinks Kim Kardashian tipped off the paparazzi when they dated.
The 98 Degrees singer engaged in a brief affair with the reality star before she found fame in her own right.
Now the star has revealed he believes she called photographers in order to get her face in the tabloids in 2006.
“Let’s just say this: We went to a movie. No one followed us there. Somehow, mysteriously, when we left, there were 30 photographers waiting outside,” he laughed to the May issue of Details magazine.
Nick acknowledged she was smart in terms of how she built up a profile.
When asked if the leaking of her sex tape with singer Ray J may have been carefully planned out, he confessed she had the video lined up from the time of their romance.
“Yeah, well that was already in the can,” Nick admitted.
Nick commends Kim for how she generates media attention.
He believes she is a master at this.
“There are certain ways to play this game, and some people play it well,” he commented.
After his own reality show on MTV with his ex-wife Jessica Simpson, the former Newlyweds star went on to marry TV presenter Vanessa Minnillo.
They now have a son named Camden together.
