After a brief move to UMe's Verve Records, Gloria Estefan returns to the Sony fold with a new multi-record contract.

Estefan had recorded for Sony labels, including Epic and Burgundy Records, from her 1977 debut with the Miami Sound Machine through 2007¡äs 90 Millas. In 2011, she released Little Miss Havana on Verve Forecast, a set that did relatively well in the U.S. but failed to chart in most other countries and only made it to number 93 in Spain where Gloria regularly made the top ten.

Afo Verde, Chairman and CEO for Sony¡¯s Latin Region, Spain and Portugal, said ¡°It only takes one word to recognize her magnificent voice. Gloria is one-of-a-kind ¨C in any language, in any genre. She sings better every day! Dearest Gloria, welcome to the place that always was and always will be your home, Sony Music. We are honored, happy and thank you for your trust. The best is yet to come!¡±

Estefan is excited about her return and her upcoming release. ¡°I¡¯m excited to join again with Sony, who I have happily worked with for over 30 years. The Standards, a project which has been a lifelong dream, will be the first of many more to come with my Sony family.¡±

Gloria is self-producing The Standards on which she will record songs that have had great meaning in her life, including Good Morning Heartache and The Way You Look Tonight. She has also written a translation of the Carlos Gardel tango classic El Dia Que Me Quieras, called The Day You Say You Love Me. It¡¯s the first time that the composers estate has allowed one of his songs to be translated.

The Standards will include songs sung in English, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese and will be co-produced by Shelly Berg and Gloria¡¯s husband Emilio.
