David Hasselhoff was told to "get over the Hoff stuff" by his daughters when he suggested The Hoffettes as a possible band name.
Taylor, 22, and 20-year-old Hayley are in group Electric Stiletto and have just released their new song Turn Up The Radio.
David has joked his daughters missed a trick when it came to their music moniker.
"I asked them, ''What''s the name of your group?'' and they said, ''Electric Stiletto,'' and I said, ''No, no it''s The Hoffettes!'' and they were like, ''No dad!'' So I suggested The Hoff Drops, and they were like, ''No dad, that''s so corny, get over the Hoff stuff!''
"So they are now out there on their own and they''re making it," he laughed in an interview with the Kyle and Jackie O radio show.
David had achieved international fame thanks to his larger-than-life personality and lead roles in Knight Rider and Baywatch.
The 60-year-old star hopes his girls achieve the same level of success.
"They tell it like it is. They''ve got great hearts. They never knew growing up that I was a celebrity, they just thought they were going to the beach every day. They get it. They know how hard I''ve worked and they know what it takes to make it. I said, ''I can''t buy you a career, I can get you to the door, I''ll try and get you some great producers but you''ve got to do it,''" he explained.
"There''s only one thing missing in my life - my daughters'' success. If they become successful, I''m done. I''m going to go open up Hoff''s Hideaway right next to Necker Island in the Caribbean."
