Perry having difficulty selling marital home

Katy Perry is reportedly 'not getting anywhere near' the asking price she desires for her property in the Hollywood Hills.

The songstress shared a palatial mansion in the exclusive Los Angeles neighbourhood with her ex-husband Russell Brand. The former couple bought the home together just months before the British comic filed for divorce in 2011.

TMZ reports that Katy is struggling to find a buyer for the estate at the moment as 'she's not getting anywhere near the $8 million' asking price she is requesting.

Apparently the singer attempted to avoid putting the house in a multiple listing service, as Katy preferred to sell the property quietly.

A private sale is not occurring and it is said she is now ready to go public.

It is also rumoured that Katy is prepared to shed around $1.5 million off the asking price for potential buyers.

Russell 'surrendered his interest' in the $6.5 million property during their divorce.

Both celebrities have moved on romantically.

Russell has been involved with a string of women since his split from the Teenage Dream crooner.

Katy is now enjoying a serious relationship with boyfriend and fellow musician John Mayer.
