Prince to play SXSW

Prince will perform this week at SXSW.

A special Prince performance with a 22-piece band is being planned for La Zona Rosa in Austin during SXSW Music week.

According to hitfix.com a special stage is being prepared for the performance on Saturday night, March 16.

It will be Prince's first time at the SXSW music festival and conference.

SXSW Music 2013 will start tomorrow (Tuesday, March 12) in Austin, Texas.

Showcasing acts for 2013 include Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Green Day, Depeche Mode, Dave Grohl's Sound City Players, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Justin Timberlake.
