will.i.am claims he builds expensive cars to teach children about technology.
The Black Eyed Peas rapper was recently seen driving around Los Angeles in a flamboyant aluminium vehicle worth a staggering $900,000. He is known to be a science enthusiast and claims he decided to create the outrageous car to inspire young people.
“I built the car for a project that I'm doing in inner cities. I round up a whole bunch of people who are qualified to teach kids science, technology, engineering, and mathematics,” he told TMZ. “And through the course, they build vehicles."
will.i.am’s latest flashy vehicle has been described as a “futuristic Morgan Aero 8” and was reportedly built from scratch by West Coast Customs.
The car isn’t the only expensive automobile will.i.am has in his garage.
The 37-year-old star also owns a DeLorean which was modified by West Coast Customs and is worth an estimated $700,000.
"So I have to build different types of vehicles that can be used in a tutorial. That's the only reason that I build cars... to invest in tools so kids today can have the skills for tomorrow," he added.
