This May Bank Holiday weekend will see BBC Radio One DJ Pete Tong join top hair stylists John Frieda and Lee Stafford on an epic bike ride to raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

On Saturday 4 May and Sunday 5 May, the presenter of BBC Radio One’s Pete Tong show will embark on the Round the Island Cycle Challenge, Ibiza 2013 to raise funds for HAIRraising, an appeal which brings together the UK hairdressing industry to support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. Having reached its original target of raising £1 million towards new operating theatres at the hospital, the appeal now aims to raise a further £1 million towards a new Respiratory Unit.

On day one, Pete and the group will cycle along the island’s beautiful southern coastline before heading back up the west coast towards San Antonio. Day two will see the cyclists head in the opposite direction and ride the northern coast.

After completing the 135km route the group will get the chance to unwind with a celebratory party Ibiza- style on Sunday evening.

Pete Tong says, “Pete Tong says, “I’m really proud of what we achieved last year and I can’t wait to get on my bike again. It’s a long route with quite a few big hills but an amazing way to see the other side of the island and the fact that I am raising funds for such a fantastic cause makes it even better. I would encourage as many people to join us as possible"
