Conrad Murray has reportedly been formally dropped by one of his attorneys following a jailhouse altercation.
The doctor is currently serving a four-year sentence at the Los Angeles County Jail after being convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.
Murray was represented by both Valerie Wass and co-counsel Michael Flanagan, but Flanagan has since dropped his client.
Apparently Flanagan and Wass became involved in a heated physical and verbal altercation with one another while visiting Murray in jail.
Wass filed a police report alleging Flanagan's son pushed her and Flanagan is taking steps to officially resign.
'Flanagan will inform Murray during his next jailhouse visit that he will no longer be representing him,' a source told Radar Online.
'Michael had been representing Murray in his fight against the California Medical Board to get his medical licence reinstated.
'Michael had been assisting Wass, who is Murray's appellate attorney, but wasn't formally on record. Michael has already formally notified Wass in writing that he's quitting and will give Conrad referrals for other attorneys who may be able to assist him.'
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Spokesperson confirmed to the website that the fracas between Wass and Flanagan was a 'very minor altercation.'
Murray has been in prison since he was convicted in November 2011 and has not held up well behind bars.
He has been commissioning the courts to allow him to leave jail and do community service for the remainder of his sentence or be locked down on house arrest.
Murray's most recent appeal submitted in December 2012 is currently pending.
