Frank Ocean reportedly wants Chris Brown charged over their parking lot brawl.

The musicians are claimed to have got into a fight outside Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

No charges have yet been filed and no arrests were made, but Ocean "is desirous of prosecution in this incident," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

Police were called to the scene where six men were apparently fighting after their entourages got involved.

Any charges made against Brown could have serious implications for his probation stemming from his 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

MTV News reports that Brown has one more year of probation left to serve.

So far, neither musician has issued a formal statement, instead using their social media pages to communicate with fans.

Earlier, the singer claimed he was trying to concentrate on his work, posting a picture of himself in a music studio with a group of five friends.

'Working on my album. Not working on negativity. Focus on feeding ya family. Bulls**t will forever be in the shadows,' he wrote.

Brown posed a drawing of Jesus on a cross to his Instagram account, alongside the caption: "Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters!"

Brown and Ocean are both nominated in the best urban contemporary album category at the Grammys, which take place on February 10 in Los Angeles.
