Coachella has secured an impressive line-up with reformations for Nick Cave's Grinderman and Violent Femmes on the list.

It was a short break-up for Grinderman. Nick Cave announced their last ever gig on December 10, 2011 and said 'see you in 10 years'. Obviously he really meant 10 months.

Violent Femmes came to a halt in 2009 when Gordon Gano announced 'Violent Femmes are over' and went on to form Bogmen. That obviously turned out well so VF has been reactivated.

Blur and The Stones Roses will headline day 1, Phoenix day 2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers on day 3.

Backstage at Big Day Out Adelaide Flea tweeted today 'Wow. saw we are playing coachella on the same bill as nick cave and the bad seeds, and the wutang clan. 2 of my favorite bands of all time'.

Coachella will also happen over two consecutive weekends starting April 12 and 19 this year and like last year repeat the following weekend.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will play on the Sundays but Cave's Grinderman will reform for the Friday line-up. The other surprise reformation is Violent Femmes, getting back together for the first time since 2009 for Coachella to perform on the Saturday shows.

Australia's Tame Impala will also play on the Sundays.

Other names include Lou Reed, New Order, Vampire Weekend, Modest Mouse, Johnny Marr and Wu-Tang Clan.
