Beyoncé Knowles reportedly thought there was “nothing wrong” with lip-synching to the National Anthem at the Presidential Inauguration ceremony on Monday.

The 31-year-old star has so far remained silent on the reports that she mimed to a pre-recorded track.

Apparently it’s a common practice for singers.

"She didn't think there was anything wrong with it," a source told Us Weekly. "Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story."

"Everybody uses these tracks, and the music director advised it. Any big outdoor live performance is almost always with some kind of track."

It is said that Beyoncé, who is currently taking a break in New Orleans, is disappointed by the controversy.

"A technicality which everybody does took away from the beauty of the moment,” the insider explained.

The source confirmed earlier comments from a U.S. Marine Corp Band representative that the singer did not perform live.

However, Kelly Clarkson did perform her classic American song My Country Tis Of Thee live.
