John Mayer cheered on his girlfriend Katy Perry from the sidelines during her Inauguration Weekend performance.

Since going public with their relationship in December, the pair have been inseparable.

Katy performed at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert on Saturday with President Barack Obama’s children Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11 and his wife First Lady Michelle in the front row.

John didn’t want his own celebrity to interfere with his love’s show, so he watched Katy sing from far in the back.

"He wanted this to be her moment," an insider told Us Weekly.

Apparently their relationship is going strong, with the couple even rumoured to be considering marriage.

"They are seriously in love and exclusive," a friend told the publication.

The couple holidayed in Hawaii over New Year, where John’s affection for the pop star was reportedly even clearer. The rocker was apparently unable to keep his eyes off Katy.

John recently sparked rumours that he may be planning on proposing to the California Dreams singer after he was spotted perusing engagement rings.

President Barack Obama was publicly inaugurated for his second term on Monday January 21.

Katy and John attended the inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C. together.
