Mel Gibson’s ex-partner, Russian pianist Oksana Grigorieva, is planning to release hip-hop and dance music.
The former couple went public with their relationship in April 2009 and had a baby six months later.
During that time the public came to know Oksana as a classical musician, singer and songwriter.
According to TMZ, she has now set her sights on making it as a hip-hop star.
Her representative, Steve Jaffe, told the website on Saturday she has already finished her first dance track, entitled Dark Secret.
She is also in the process of shooting a music video.
Her spokesman did not say how many songs Oksana plans to release.
She hopes the new music will be available on iTunes by February 2013.
Mel and Oksana made headlines for their fiery romance and acrimonious split.
A year after they went public the relationship was over, with Oksana accusing Mel of violence.
Mel pleaded no contest to misdemeanour battery charges in March, 2011. He had to undergo counselling and was sentenced to community service.
Recordings of the actor using racist and violent language were also leaked.
The former couple share a three-year-old daughter, Lucia, and settled a bitter custody dispute over the girl late last year.
