The Vaccines to play intimate London gig

Absolute Radio and Hard Rock Cafe have announced The Vaccines will perform an intimate and exclusive gig at the Hard Rock Cafe London in November ' the first time the band has appeared at the legendary Park Lane venue.

After recently storming to the top of the UK album charts with their second release 'The Vaccines Come of Age', this will be a rare opportunity to get up-close with band members Justin, Arni, Freddie and Pete as they perform in their home city. Their next set of London gigs will be in front of thousands at major venues including Alexandra Palace and the O2 Arena as part of their UK tour.

Although The Vaccines only formed two years ago, they have already made their mark on the music scene. Their first album, 'What Did You Expect From the Vaccines' earned huge critical acclaim and reached platinum sales in the UK. A string of award nominations followed, including a BRIT award nod for Best Newcomer, along with wins at the NME and XFM awards, a solo tour and being asked to support Arctic Monkeys on their US and UK tour.

After taking a year off, the boys are back and 'The Vaccines Come of Age' is already one of this year's biggest selling hits. Their recently announced UK tour fully cements The Vaccines' position as one of Britain's top bands.

Absolute Radio presenter Pete Donaldson will host the event on Tuesday 6th November and said, 'This could be your last chance to see The Vaccines in an intimate venue before they explode further into the dizzy heights of superstardom ' be there.'

The Hard Rock Cafe London, who celebrated their 40th anniversary last year, will host the exclusive event and tickets can be won by tuning into Absolute Radio, or visiting

A limited 20 complimentary tickets will be available for members of the public. These can be won by visiting www.facebook.com/hardrockcafelondon and 'liking' the post relating to the gig and leaving a comment on the post. Winners will be contacted via the Hard Rock Cafe London Facebook page.

Highlights from the gig will be played out on Absolute Radio on The Sunday Night Music Club on 11th November at 10pm
