After weeks of speculation, the Rolling Stones have today announced two concert dates in London in November. viagogo's international websites have already registered over a million searches from Brazil to Beijing from fans hoping to see the legendary rockers on what is rumoured to be their last tour.
With only 15,000 seats thought to be available per night at the London O2 Arena, that means at least a million disappointed fans. The O2 would need to put on 73 of those performances to meet this demand. This is the highest demand for tickets to an event ever registered by viagogo, the world's largest ticket marketplace.
Ed Parkinson, viagogo spokesperson, said: 'The Rolling Stones are a global phenomenon ' and one of the last supergroups still performing with a full line up. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see them, which explains why they are topping the search terms on viagogo before tickets have even gone on sale.'
