Bobbi Kristina Brown's romance is 'headed to disaster', her family reportedly fear.

The daughter of late singer Whitney Houston is engaged to Nick Gordon, who Whitney treated as her adopted son.

Bobbi confirmed the news in a promo released for the reality show The Houstons: On Our Own, where her aunt Pat Houston termed the romance 'unacceptable'. Other family members are reportedly also struggling to accept the union.

'It's just that they are very worried that this is a relationship headed to disaster,' a source told Chicago Sun-Times.

There are said to be concerns that the two young people aren't well suited. Some people close to Bobbi apparently fear Nick might steer her in the wrong direction.

'Bobbi Kristina is making so many mistakes as she tries to take control of her life. She's not making the right decisions, and being with Nick is just one of them,' the insider added.

'[He is] simply the wrong kind of influence on Bobbi Kristina.'

Pat has previously insisted 19-year-old Bobbi will not be tying the knot any time soon.

'A lot of teenagers, when they hit 18, they think they're grown,' she said last week. 'They think they know it all, they think they know about relationships. You just have to be there to navigate and guide them.'
