Jordin Sparks and Jason Derülo aren’t “scared” of talking about marriage.
The two singers have been dating for around a year and are focusing on their future together.
Due to personal difficulties – such as Jordin losing her Sparkle co-star Whitney Houston earlier this year – this is the first time the couple have been able to talk about wedding plans.
"It's not a conversation that we're scared about," Jordin revealed to Us Weekly.
"Before, we both went through tragedies this year – he broke his neck and then Whitney passed – so before it might have been a little too crazy."
While practising choreography for his tour in January, Jason fell on his neck and fractured a vertebrae, which could have left him paralysed.
Due to the recent tragic events, the pair have realised the importance of living in the moment.
"You really see the people you love and you go, ‘I don't want to lose you.’ So, it's a conversation we have, but we're not in a rush,” the 22-year-old American Idol winner explained.
"I hope he does [ask me to marry him]! It's not happening yet, but I hope so!"
