Justin Bieber regrets "looking forward" to touring without his mom, as he misses her when he's on the road.

The Canadian superstar has a famously close relationship with his mother Pattie, who regularly supervised the young teen during his rise to fame. Justin turned 18 in March and misses the constant presence of his mom - even though he was adamant he wouldn't.

"I do miss her now I'm 18. Before she was around all the time and I would get sick of her and I would look forward to her leaving. I'd be like, 'Yes! Mom's leaving tomorrow!' Now I'm like, 'When's mom coming back?'" he laughed in an interview with UK TV show Daybreak.

"It's funny how things change."

Justin has a legion of female fans thanks to his boyish good looks, constant social media interaction and catchy pop tunes. He is currently in the UK promoting his album Believe and has revealed how his British fans compare to his American followers.

"A little bit," he smiled when asked if they differ. "In the States they chase the car for a little bit, but here they chase the car and run from block to block, then grab their bikes! They're very dedicated.

"I never get fed up with it. So many people wish to have the fan base that I have so I don't get fed up with anything."

Justin has joked that his new book won't be much use to his over-zealous fans though.

"They can see the behind-the-scenes and what I do when I'm on the road. I want the fans to get to know me more. It's hard because they already know everything about me!" he laughed.
