Pink: I need angst

Pink always carries a "certain amount of angst" around with her.

The 33-year-old singer gets riled by a lot of things in life. The unconventional star is upset and angered quite easily but uses these feelings to inspire her music.

"I write from my life, my experience. I'm selfish that way," Pink explained to USA Today. "We watch the news and read the paper and vote, so there's always something to be upset about. I always have a certain amount of angst in my back pocket."

The singer also opened up about the fighting spirit that has seen her battle through life so far. Pink has mellowed since giving birth to daughter Willow in June last year. The pop star revealed her method for managing her rage now is to take it out on stage where she can put all her pent up energy into her performance.

"My shows are like group therapy," Pink explained. "I was a dark teenager. When I was 17 or 18, I had not yet exorcised my demons. My anger is more focused now. Maybe I'm less certain and more open to negotiation. I used to be angry with everyone. I got a lot of that from my dad. He was tough, and I was raised with that fighter attitude."
