Noel Gallagher admits it is "hard work" being a solo artist as he can no longer work when hungover.

Noel Gallagher finds it "hard work" being a solo artist.

The 'AKA... What A Life' hitmaker - who parted ways with Oasis in 2009 - admits he struggles to be at his best "every night" when performing alone but does not miss his old band.

He said: "I don't miss it. I enjoy what I do now. This is a lot harder work than Oasis was, this is very hard on the brain, Oasis was hard on the soul. This is hard, you've got to be on it every night.

"When I was in Oasis, I'd shuffle on hungover, having been up late, by the time we got to my bits in the set I'd be very warmed up, but now I've got to be on it from the start."

Noel - who parted ways with Oasis after a series of bust ups with his brother Liam Gallagher - admits he rarely thinks about his old group now.

He added to NME Radio: "I don't think about it too much now. If it was great I wouldn't have left, if it was all s**ts and giggles I wouldn't be doing this."
