Little Mix hit top spot becoming fastest selling single of the year by a band

Little Mix yesterday stormed to the top of the Official UK Singles Chart with 'Wings', becoming the fastest selling single of 2012 by a group.

The X Factor winners sold an amazing 106,766 copies of 'Wings' this week, the girls' second No.1 single following their debut 'Cannonball' reaching the top in December 2011.

Jesy from the band says: 'This has been the best week ever! We feel like 'Wings' is our baby that we've been waiting to unleash on the world! To have it released and go straight to No.1 is just incredible. Thank you to everyone that has bought the single this week, it means so much to us.'

Jade, Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jesy were today presented with a celebratory gift from their management - special giant cookies, each with their names on and a No.1 record cookie! (see attached photos).

Little Mix are currently writing and recording their debut album, due for release in November. They have also just released their first book 'Ready To Fly'.
