Malin Akerman lists being a groupie as her "favourite rock 'n' roll moment".
The Rock of Ages actress is playing punk rock pioneer Blondie in new movie CBGB.
Featuring in two music-based films means the actress has been looking back at her own history with rock bands.
"I was groupie for a year and followed a band. I dated the drummer of the band," she told Entertainment Tonight.
"They were quite big...I can't tell [you] who it is, but...the experience of being on a tour bus and being backstage and watching [the show] from backstage...that was my favourite rock 'n' roll moment."
Despite her knowledge of the industry, Malin still feels pressure to get the part right.
The film is based on true events, which means there is more demand for an accurate portrayal.
"There is so much pressure to do it right," Malin confessed.
"I've been watching copious amounts of YouTube videos, interviews, and stage performances...There's such a huge...population in the world who know who she is and who watched her, so you want to get it as right as possible. There is, obviously, pressure. You want to do her justice, so hopefully she'll be happy."
Twilight’s Ashley Greene stars alongside Malin as Lisa Kristal, the daughter of CBGB's late owner Hilly Kristal.
