Boris supports local Tottenham school in their bid to beat Bieber to the Number 1 spot!
"..let's get Everybody Dreams to Number 1"- Boris Johnson, Mayor of London
The students of Gladesmore Community School (aged 11-15 years) are gearing up for a race to the top of the charts with the release of their single 'Everybody Dreams' this Sunday (19th August).
The song, that has been written, performed and produced by the students of Gladesmore- was born out of the school's passion to show the UK that their home town, Tottenham is actually full of young people that stand against everything that the riots of last August displayed.
Tottenham, where the riots started last summer was actually the last place to be visited by the clean-up programme ' so when the kids went back to school last September there was widespread concern and distress amongst the students. Not only about what had happened to their home and community, but also about the negative imagery that was being portrayed to the UK and indeed the world.
So Gladesmore began a project, to brainstorm how they could help change this perception of Tottenham. The answer was unanimous. They wanted to create a song, that could spread their message of hope and passion for their home. The kids wanted to flip the script, and utilise all the various media channels that the rioters did last summer, to help spread news of the campaign & their positivity.
Fast forward to today, 'Everybody Dreams' has garnered incredible support- all impressively generated by the students in the spare time. Supporters include Boris Johnson , Rickie Gervais, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Tinchy, Alan Carr, the cast of EastEnders, and of course Tottenham Hot Spurs- and many more.
The single is available to download from this Sunday, and their dream is to make the Top 10, and reach that number 1 spot.
Help support the students of Tottenham's Gladesmore Community School and download the track from Sunday 19th August.
