Amy Winehouse's father Mitch had a "mini breakdown" when he read back over his book about the late star.
Amy died aged 27 at her North London home after an alcohol binge a year ago today. Speaking on the anniversary of her death, the singer's father Mitch has revealed how he felt reliving some of the memories included in his tell-all book, Amy, My Daughter.
"When I had to read it back for edits and mistakes I had a mini breakdown," he told the BBC. "I found it far worse reading it back."
The proceeds from Mitch's book will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity that was set up in his daughter's name to help people struggling with addiction.
Mitch is hopeful that his daughter's high-profile battle with alcohol and drugs will continue to raise awareness.
"This is the power of positivity. Look at what we've achieved in less than a year," he said.
"Even within the space of nine months since we created the foundation, Amy's waving her magic wand up in heaven and we're getting stuff done."
