Madonna's MDNA tour projected to be one of the biggest ever

The MDNA album may not have been a big success, but the tour of the same name is set to be one of the biggest ever.

According to an article in the Huffington Post, Madonna has taken in $50 million over the first three weeks of the tour and has seventy more shows to go. That projects out to a potential $450 million tour.

A concert promoter told HuffPosts "Naughty But Nice Rob", telling him "This is one of the biggest tours we have seen ... ever. She is playing some of the biggest venues around the world and selling them out ... It's putting other summer tours, including J.Lo's first tour, to shame. What is so impressive about these numbers is she's playing far fewer shows than previous tours by the Rolling Stones, Cher and Lady Gaga, and grossing more."

For comparison, U2's 360 Degree Tour grossed $736 million on 110 shows and the Rolling Stones took $558 on 144 shows during their Bigger Bang Tour.

So far, Madonna's highest grossing show was at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates where she took in $8,053,500.
