Adele could give birth as soon as September, it has been claimed.

A source says the singer is further along in her pregnancy than expected and could be welcoming her first child in as little as two months’ time.

The British star has reportedly been trying to keep her pregnancy under wraps until the last minute possible and is already around the seven months stage.

Indeed, the fact that she didn’t fly to the US to attend the Billboard Awards in May despite her 12 nominations has been interpreted by some media outlets as an indication of how far along the 24-year-old is.

“Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible,” a source told British magazine Heat. “She stopped exercising a few months ago and since then it’s been all about the baby.”

Adele announced that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki on 30 June 2012, causing speculation that she had just passed the 12-week milestone when parents are safe to confirm a pregnancy.

“I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon. Yours always, Adele,” she wrote on her website.
