Beyonce Knowles and husband Jay-Z have already splashed out a £1 million on their newborn daughter Blue Ivy, it is reported.
The couple welcomed their first child into the world on Saturday but the little girl will grow up in a lap of luxury and her parents have already ensured that she is surrounded by the best of everything.
Britain’s Star magazine claims that the superstar couple have stocked their three homes with all that their child could want including a rocking horse that set them back £400,000.
“They’re really pulling out all the stops – the two of them have been spending like there’s no tomorrow!” an insider told the publication.
“Together they’ve bought a Swarovski-studded high chair by Carla Monchen for £10,000, and a Fantasy ‘posh tots’ coach carriage crib for £30,000.
“Jay-Z bought Beyoncé a solid gold handmade Ginza Tanaka rocking horse for £400,000. They’ve even splashed out on a £20,000 magical windmill playhouse for the garden and a mini Bugatti car too.”
The couple have also spent a massive £240,000 to ensure that the nurseries in each of their three homes are identical so the baby will feel at home when they travel around America.
The happy couple released an official statement yesterday confirming the new addition to their family and dispelled reports that the little girl was born via C-section.
“Hello Hello Baby Blue!” the message from musical duo began.
“We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.
“She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all of your prayers, well wishes, loves and support.”
Jay-Z released a track yesterday that he recorded soon after Blue Ivy was born called Glory which is a touching tribute about the couple’s joy at becoming parents but also mentioned that Beyoncé had suffered a miscarriage in the past.
Meanwhile, a representative for the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York where Beyoncé gave birth has dispelled reports that the couple paid a sizeable sum to close off a whole floor to ensure privacy and security.
“The suggestion that the couple paid $1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true,” the spokesperson said.
“The family is housed in an executive suite at the hospital and is being billed the standard rate for those accommodations.
“The family does have its own security detail on site. However, the hospital has been and continues to be in control of managing all security at the facility.
“We have made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families experiencing the birth of their own children over the past three days.”
The hospital rep also added that they had received no complaints from any other parents at the hospital.
There had been reports that a father was stopped from entering the intensive care unit to see his premature twins by the stars’ security and that mothers at the hospital were considering filing a lawsuit because of the alleged disruption.
