Arctic Monkeys miss New Year's Eve countdown

MusicFeeds.com reports that Arctic Monkeys played a NYE show in Australia but, despite being the last act to play in 2011, came off stage two minutes before the big moment with no heads up to 2012.

The band were meant to do the countdown to midnight but the message hadn't been passed on.

"Sorry we thought someone else had organised a countdown - let's do one now then shall we?" frontman Alex Turner reportedly apologised as he returned to the stage at 12.01am.

Aparently no one seemed to bothered and the party carried on - with help from Crystal Castles.
