Robyn was “going for it” on her most recent promo, because she wanted to feel “real”.

The 32-year-old Swedish singer, who has supported US songstress Katy Perry on her California Dreams Tour, released the last album of her trilogy Body Talk, in November of last year, with lead single Indestructible.

The second single to be released from the record was Call Your Girlfriend, and the star says she worked hard on the music video for the track.

“We decided to do in one take, it worked out. We chose between three takes, we chose the one that had the energy people get when they go to a show,” she revealed in an interview with BBC Radio One.

“I was going for it, you have to. If it doesn’t feel real nobody’s gonna wanna watch it.”

Robyn likes to mix improvised routines into her structured promos. The platinum-haired songstress, who won a Swedish Grammis award for Best Live Act in 2008, says her promo for Call Your Girlfriend was a combination of the two.

“It was a mixture of freestyle and choreographed together,” she added.
