The Godfathers, one of London's finest bands of the late eighties and early nineties are rumoured to be ready to reform for a one off 20th anniversary 'St Valentines Day Massacre' gig.

The St Valentines Day Massacre shows were the band's flagship live performances which took place annually on the 14th February in venues varying from their spiritual home at The Marquee in Wardour Street to the London Dungeons and were always sell outs. The raw energy of their live performances distinguished them as London's premier live guitar driven rock and roll band with a dynamic mixture of early Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Sex Pistols all rolled into one and delivered by the five piece immaculately suited and booted in the way the Godfather name would suggest.

Their legions of fans queueing outside the gigs for some reason never transformed into record sales and chart success eluded them although the memory of their pulsating performances lives on.

Music-news awaits more information on this as nothing has been announced but it seems at least four members of the original five will be there. Let's hope we can enjoy the full line up. This gig may not provide The Godfathers with the success they may have deserved but at least it will be the official goodbye we never had.
