‘Double Trouble’, performed by Francesca Sciberras and Mikaela Bajjada is the winning song of this year’s Malta Junior Eurosong. The song has automatically qualified to represent Malta in Kiev, Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest on November 21, 2009.

‘My One True Passion’ performed by Ylenia Vella qualified as the runner up whilst ‘The Mambo Song’ by Sarah Bonnici placed third.

66 songs were submitted for this year’s edition. A professional jury had selected the 20 songs that were performed on Saturday evening during a live show.

The jury for the final night was made up of Deborah Borg Brincat, Celaine Buhagiar, Marlene Calleja, Mario Laus, Ray Mangion and Mark Spiteri Lucas. Televoting and SMS votes formed the 7th member of the jury.

The voting process was supervised by notary Dr Sharon Fiorentino and auditor Jonathan Desira as well as by members of the Eurosong advisory team. A UKAM representative was also present.

Trophies were presented by last year’s winner Daniel Testa in the presence of PBS chairman, Dr Clare Thake Vassallo.
