The soundtrack to a forthcoming movie about Kurt Cobain has been revealed, with REM, Iggy Pop and David Bowie amongst the acts contributing songs.

The film, "Kurt Cobain About A Son", is due for release towards the end of 2007 and will be accompanied by a collection of music known to have inspired the Nirvana icon.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Melvins, Butthole Surfers, Mudhoney, Lead Belly and Bad Brains also feature on the soundtrack.

Death Cab For Cutie star Ben Gibbard is understood to have put together an original score for the film, which features a number of rare interviews with Cobain.
