On Monday January 2nd the radioprogram “Norgesglasset” on NRK (the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation), starts by playing the very first Beatles’ song, “Love Me Do”, and the plan is to keep on until all the 212 original Beatles’ songs have been transmitted. On every workday at 12.30 GMT. Mr. Baard Ose and Mr. Finn Tokvam will introduce a Beatles’ song, and at the same time give the background and the history of the song. The Beatles recorded 211 songs during their time as a band, and the 212th song presentet will be the holiday song "Christmas Time Is Here Again", released on the "Free as a Bird" single in 1995.

In the year 2007 it's 50 years since John Lennon, as the first Beatle, founded The Quarrymen, a band that turned out to be a sort of forerunner of The Beatles group. Mr. Ose and Mr. Tokvam are convinced that The Beatles’ jubilee has to be thoroughly marked, and for that reason they have decided to introduce and play each and all of The Beatles’ songs.

'We take them consecutively, as they where published, the A-side before the B-side. At the same time we give the background of each melody, related to places, persons and events that have given inspiration to the writing of each melody,' says Mr. Ose.

You may hear it on NRKs Internet Radio http://www.nrk.no/nettradio/?kanal=p1 every day at 12.30 GMT, or visit the NRKs website about The Beatles at http://www.nrk.no/beatles.
