SUGABABES have signed a contract with Jay-Z's US label Roc-A-Fella.

Reports today said the girl group finalised the deal at London restaurant Nobu last month.

The girls - Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range, and Amelle Berrabah - will still be under contract with major label Island Records but will start working with a new team.

They flew out to Los Angeles today to start work on their seventh album and will be recording with some of Rihanna and Beyoncé's producers.

But Keisha said they did not want to rush the recording process.

She said: "We want to... take about a year to write it. But it depends - if everything goes well and we get a massive single, then obviously we'll come back straight away."

The group's last album Catfights And Spotlights, which the singles 'Girls' and 'No Can Do' were taken from, failed to match the success of their previous releases.
