Queen join the EMI exodus with the artists leaving the major label with serious financial woes.
As they slam the door on EMI after 40 years they open a new one at Universal.
Queen follow Paul McCartney and Radiohead in departing EMI after the buy-out by private equity firm Terra Firma lead to untold financial woes.
A spokensman for Queen told The Times,
'EMI just decided they couldn't compete. It was too much to pay and they want to spend that money on developing new talent.'
